The Kasbah Ait Benhaddou is perfectly preserved and listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is about 4 hours drive from Marrakech. The tour starts from your hotel, along the Tizi-n-tichka pass at 2260m, through the meanders of the mountain and you will reach one of the most spectacular ksours (fortified village). The Kasbah Aït Benhaddou is located on the trans-Saharan caravan route. This ancient fortified village was inhabited by many Berber families. It's really wonderful to climb the hill which overlooks the village and offers a 360 degree view of the valley. 22 km away is the city of Ouarzazate, home of the Atlas Film Studios, where famous films such as Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator and The Mummy were filmed. Next, stop for lunch at a local restaurant with a fantastic view of the ancient Kasbah of Taourirt, the palace where the last Pasha of Marrakech lived. In the afternoon, you can visit Atlas Studios. At sunset, we return to Marrakech.
